Deepak is the founder and chairman of Joulon, and has over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas services industry. He was originally hired on in Schlumberger’s graduate engineer trainee program, then went on to become the Senior Vice President at Transocean where he led the Asia Pacific business unit. Previously, as head of Transocean’s strategy group, he spearheaded many transactions, and is credited with turning around the India division; shifting it from a $10M to over a $1B operation. He is well regarded for his deep industry knowledge and customer focus. Deepak is a graduate of Harvard’s executive management program and an electrical engineer from IIT Kanpur.
Vice Chairman & Group CEO
Abhishek is the founder and Vice Chairman & CEO of Joulon. He has 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, which began as a rig engineer in 2002 at Transocean, then culminated in his role as Vice President Asset Management at Shelf Drilling. At Transocean, he occupied several key operational positions in India, South Korea and Singapore. Known for building and running high performance teams, he is a savvy investor and mentor to several successful startups. Abhishek is a graduate of Harvard’s executive management program and a mechanical engineer from IIT Kanpur.
President Customer Accounts
Kevin is the President – Customer Accounts at Joulon. He has over 33 years of industry experience holding key executive and line management roles in operations and marketing. He last served as Senior Executive Vice President of Lamprell Energy and was responsible for Land Rigs & Offshore Rig Refurbishments. Prior to this role, he was the Vice President – Operations of Lamprell’s Hamriyah & Sharjah facilities with overall responsibility for them, conducting all day-to-day management requirements and managing the execution of all projects undertaken there. Before Lamprell he worked globally with J Ray McDermott for 12 years holding various positions relevant to the fabrication, installation and commissioning of fixed offshore platforms.
Harinder Singh Arya
Chief Technical Officer
Harinder, a biochemical engineer from IIT Delhi, is the Chief Technical Officer at Joulon. He has 13 years of industry experience acquired by working at Transocean, where he started as a rig engineer, then expanded to fulfil several operational roles including project manager, asset manager and rig manager. His last role at Transocean saw him leading risk based maintenance initiatives to help optimize asset management costs. He holds a US patent for subsea BOP intervention. Harinder has an MBA from the University of Texas, Austin.
Vice President - Sales
Tim is the Vice President – Sales at Joulon, and is a Managerial Economics graduate from the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He has over 10 years of oil and gas industry experience gained from working at National Oilwell Varco (NOV), where he started in the project group and quickly rose to lead the regional sales team in the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to NOV, he had experience in various finance and project management roles.
Head – Transformation Projects
Ashish is Head – Transformation Projects at Joulon. He started his career in offshore drilling industry over 15 years ago and has held key management roles in India, China, Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, UAE and Qatar. In his last role as Operations Manager for Shelf Drilling in India he led operations and cost transformation for the entire Jackup fleet of 9 rigs. Ashish graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur with degree Mechanical Engineering and completed executive management program from Harvard Business School.
Asbjørn S. Olsen
Chief Operating Officer
With over 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Asbjørn is the Chief Operating Officer at Joulon. His career began with Schlumberger Oilfield Services in 1991 with several field management roles, across Europe and Africa. He later was Managing Director for Transocean in Norway, the North Sea and Canada after serving as General Manager, Operations in India and the Middle East, eventually becoming Vice President – Fleet Integrity for world-wide operations and part of the corporate leadership team.
Asbjørn is an alumnus from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France – Advanced Management Program, Harvard Business School Boston, USA – Program for Management Development, and holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
Amit is the President of Finance at Joulon. He has 18 years of experience out of which the last 11 years have been in global private equity investments, portfolio management, turnaround and exit creation, with a total of more than $1 billion of equity investments across 20 companies. He started his career as an engineer at Electronics for Imaging in the Silicon Valley where he created digital printing technologies securing patents. Thereafter, after working for a short period as a management consultant, he worked at Oman Investment Fund (SWF) where he was responsible for leading the full investment cycle of global private equity transactions across sectors, assets and geographies. In his last role, Amit was CFO at ANC Holdings, where he managed Group P&L and led financial and operational restructuring for the whole Group with business across sectors.
Amit has an MBA from INSEAD in France and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Kanpur in India.
Director - Integration & Compliance
Vishal is the Director – Integration and Compliance. A seasoned professional, he brings over 14 years of experience built within the Banking & Financial Services industry. He joined ICICI Bank as a management trainee and through the tenure grew to manage a variety of complex portfolios in a leadership capacity. In his last role with ICICI, he was responsible for managing a team accountable for $800Mn of assets under management. Vishal is a well-regarded senior leader known for building high performing teams and creating a dynamic, progressive and self-sustaining work environment. A strategic executive, Vishal’s forte is his problem-solving/analytical acumen, situational leadership and execution focus. A connoisseur of art, Vishal is an avid art investor.
An MBA from K J Somaiya, Mumbai; Vishal holds an Economics Honours from Delhi University.
Managing Director - Pressure Control Platform
Danny our Managing Director – Pressure Control Platform has 15 years of oil and gas industry experience and has held progressive roles in Senior Management and Engineering at Nabors, Expro and Worldwide Oilfield Machine. He was critical in developing next generation Managed Pressure Drilling and Choke & Kill systems for land and deepwater assets.
Danny holds a B.S. Electrical Engineering from University of Texas and B.Sc. Business and Management from Moscow University Touro. Danny has several patents pending involving MPD, choke systems, control systems, pressure control.
He has worked in several countries and speaks 4 languages.

Mark Prendergast, a proud Welshman, joined Harris Pye over 20 years ago as Office and Finance Manager tasked with upgrading the financial system to attract investment. A year later 3i was onboard. He then moved, as General Manager, to the UAE to set up a standalone company in the region. Whilst he was there Harris Pye expanded its Middle Eastern reach from the UAE across Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
He returned to the UK and worked as Group General Manager from 2001-2007 before the Management Buyout. During this time Harris Pye opened up in Brazil, Poland and Australia. He has been Managing Director since then.
When Mark first joined the company its turnover was GBP13m; by 2007 at the time of the MBO it was GBP30m. Since then, despite two global economic crashes, turnover has trebled. The Group has also seen a three/four-fold capacity increase in fabrication capability and the transition of a boiler repair company in the marine sector to a full blown EPC turnkey contractor with all skills in house, including design and commissioning.
Expansion into India, China, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Brazil as well as breaking into vertical markets such as renewables, biomass, green technology have all been achieved with CEO Mark, and COO Chris David at the helm.

V.K. Dhawan has an incredible 48+ years of experience working in the oil and gas industry. Beginning as a drilling engineer at Oil & Gas Corporation Ltd (1968-1974), then moving to Larsen & Toubro to become a Senior Engineer (1974-1980), VKD (as he is popularly known) started his own venture, Sara Services & Engineers Pvt Ltd, in 1980 from a modest garage. The technology for manufacturing accumulator units, power tongs, hammer unions, swivel joints and wireless units was acquired from Koomey Inc, Eckel, Varco & Camco, which was subsequently upgraded by in-house R&D to offer customers technologically superior, world-class products. New products were also developed to expand product offering. Research, development and upgrading of technology are his mantras which he employs to expand ferociously with satisfied old and new customers.
Currently Sara boasts of five large manufacturing plants in India, distribution centers in Houston, Dubai and Singapore, a manufacturing plant in Houston, and a joint venture in Russia. He oversees all projects, including offshore oil and gas assignments in every continent, and at sea – earning Harris Pye ‘the shipyard without a shipyard’ reputation as they work on rigs/ships/FPSOs under way or in the field. Company skills now include boiler design and manufacture (for marine and onshore uses – including biomass plants) and a wide range of offshore and onshore engineering projects.
He is proud of taking a boiler repair company to a global offshore and land-based EPC contractor. He has contributed heavily to Harris Pye’s vision by striving to spearhead technological advancements within the industry, thus bridging the gap from concept to reality with regards to project execution.
Another passion is developing new talent. He takes pride in the accreditation programme developed with IMarEST for Graduate Engineers and, through Harris Pye’s internal training programmes; as well as sponsoried external programmes at numerous colleges and universities.
His own CPD includes becoming a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Marine Engineer, a Fellow of IMarEST, Fellow of RINA, and a member of SNAME and AISC. He has also held the post of Honorary Chairman of the IMarEst UAE Branch.

With 40 years of experience, Daniel Foo is a seasoned and resourceful campaigner who has proven his mettle in various industries. His long and industrious career began with the Singapore National Service as an army Infantry Officer in 1977. He then joined the Singa Ship Management Company as a sea-going Marine Engineer in 1980, quickly rising in the ranks to Chief Engineer and later Technical Manager onshore. In 1990 he moved on to become the Managing Director of Atwin Group of companies, holding this position till his departure in 2008. Daniel then took charge as the CEO & Managing Director of GlobalOne group of companies in 2009, a role which he still occupies. With more than 40 years of experience in both the upstream and downstream operations in the oil and gas industry, Ken is a well connected and extremely knowledgeable player in the industry. He started work on land based rigs in Northern Canada, which prompted him to complete his bachelors degree in Instrumentation Technologies.
A serial entrepreneur, he went on to set up Murkenlay Controls, Western controls, Fortons controls, and Asrimco Inc, to just name a few. They were all based on the controls side of pipeline, refinery, power plant and petro chemical construction. He joined Thanh Ngoc as General Manager in 2006 and moved up the ladder to become the jacking gear manager for Shelf Drilling, then became the CEO of Thanh Ngoc in August 2016. Prior to setting up RAM Design, he played key roles at All Points (later acquired by AF Gobal) and Lone Star Corrosion. Before that he spent 22 years at GE Vetco gray specializing in the design, manufacturing and repairs of drilling riser and associated equipment.

With his diverse experience in information technology and banking, he brings strong process engineering and a service oriented mindset to the drilling industry. His teams are adept at identifying and eliminating waste and excess costs by deploying smart commercial models, introducing technology, or by putting together end-to-end maintenance offerings.
Before moving into the drilling industry, he handled key customer facing roles in the information technology, banking and insurance sectors. At Aggrego, he has led several initiatives and projects including the setting up of maintenance systems, reactivation projects, rig acceptance, and development of new systems for rig certifications and compliance.
